Feature : Advent of The Dawn | Shantanu & Nikhil Spring-Summer'15 Connotation

Sunday, 5 April 2015

Hey lovely readers!
A few weeks back, before the AIFW madness in Delhi, I had visited Shantanu and Nikhil's flagship store at Defence Colony, Delhi for an exclusive preview of their Spring Summer couture collection.

I had also shared a preview on my social media channels - Instagram and Facebook and many readers wanted to see more from the collection. Well today in this post I will be covering more images from the collection.

Their haute couture collection titled - "Advent of The Dawn" featured the designer duo's trademark attention-to-detail in the form of luxurious gowns, quirky graphic prints, a diverse color palette including gold, ivories and peaches, and dramatic headdresses which personified their muse, the Dutchess.

As I entered their flagship store, I instantly remembered  the Fashion Float they had designed for DLF Emporio, Delhi back in February and the designer duo explained that the bespoke collection was in continuation to that series.

The collection covers their muse's journey, her signature style, as she gets ready in her powder room and sways in a couture gown for a masquerade ball to a lavish tea party in her garden.

The complete exhibit spoke about spring, blooming romance, beautiful silhouettes and exuded luxury and elegance reflecting the fashion royalty.

The collection also featured floor-skimming anarkalis, asymmetrical hemlines, draped tunics, fusion sarees, layered kurtas and accessories in the form of lace-infused gloves. The designs are not only perfect for the wedding season but also for red-carpet events and evening wear.

Speaking about their couture collection, Shantanu & Nikhil said “The muse in the collection is someone who has all eyes upon her, and in her absence she is always the subject of universal appreciation, and what she wears tonight will be the absolute culmination of the novel and the classic."

I absolutely fell in love with the Spring Summer collection and totally adored the complete exhibit and the kind of effort went in to make it a treat for the eyes. The designer duo really know how to blend minimalism in perfection with couture and showcase it beautifully.

Love
